I’m so happy to announce the next collaboration between myself and Shadowbox Live, the largest resident theater company in America. I’ll be appearing as a special guest in the next Sketch Comedy and Rock n’ Roll Show, called “Out of Control.” The show runs from March 27-May-31, but, due to my existing tour schedule, I’ll appearing on select nights only. Keep checking this space – and my tour schedule – for an update of which nights I’ll appear. Shadowbox Live | 503 S. Front St. | Columbus, OH | box office:(614) 416-7625
Michael Kent special guest in “Out of Control” Select Dates:
I’ve got shelves in my office filled with things that I’ve collected during my travels. But the most valuable collection I have is my collection of stories. On July 10, I’ll be sharing many of these stories and performing the amazing magic that goes along with many of them. The event will be at Shadowbox Live’s Backstage Bistro on Wednesday, July 10. I hope to see you there.
THIS SATURDAY, I’ll be taking a night off from my current run in “The Best of Shadowbox Live” to participate in a drink-making competition as part of Digfest in Grandview, OH. The competition, brought to you by Drink Up Columbus, will be reminiscent of the TV Show “Chopped” where contestants will mix supplied ingredients to attempt to make the best drink. Anyone who was around during my successful batch-mixing of “The Red Death” or “The Purple Death” tailgating drinks in college will know what to expect out of this situation. I’ll be competing against two friends of mine, Editor of 614 Magazine, Travis Hoewischer and local personality, Johnny DiLoretto. It should be a very fun event! Hope to see you there!
“Magic is a tricky business. To most, there are two kinds of magicians: the best one they’ve ever seen . . . or absolutely terrible.
If a magician can get a laugh out of his audience, however, they’re given a pass for not making the Statue of Liberty cry tigers. For years, Hilliard’s own Michael Kent has grabbed the attention of college students all over the country with his hipper version of the traditionally kiddie/campy artform, and this year his talent has earned him a national nod with a nomination for Entertainer of the Year in Campus Activities Magazine.” Read the rest of the article here.
