Performing for Your Parents

Family weekends at colleges are always interesting groups for a few reasons. My show has to change a bit, because I want everyone to be able to get the jokes – not just part of the audience. Also, students often “clam up” when they’re in front of their parents. A joke about sex or booze might get a crazy “woo” with just college students, but only gets applause when their parents are present. Proving Once Again that My Show is Awesomer than Tornadoes

I performed Wednesday night at THE Ohio State University (Newark Campus). The “THE” in “The Ohio State University” becomes much more funny and ironic when describing a branch campus. Performing near the presence of tornadoes is apparently becoming a thing with me.

Four-Legged Birds in Wisconsin

Show for 300-400 in La Crosse, WI at Viterbo University – home of the Viterbo V-Hawks (what?). Me: Name a four-legged animal. Her: Bird! Audience: ha! 45 minutes later: Me: What is your school’s mascot here? Them: V-Hawk! Me: What the hell is a V-hawk. Hilarious audience member: It’s a four-legged bird! LOVED IT. There’s been a real sense of spontaneity and variety in these last few shows that really makes me enjoy myself onstage.
