New michaelkentLIVE Website Coming Soon!

I’m excited to return to the Magic Castle in Hollywood this coming weekend, this time to perform with Theory11 LIVE, a show made up of various guest artists from the Theory11 group! Shows lately have been a lot of fun! I just got back from a trip to North Carolina to perform with my buddy Ivan Pecel at UNC Pembroke. Sat on the runway for 2.5 hours in Raleigh trying to get home, though. That wasn’t fun. But by the time I got to my layover in Baltimore, that plane was having maintenance too, so I ended up getting home … Read more

Performing for the Lambda Kappa Sigma Ladies of Duquesne University

I just saw this note on Facebook about my recent show at Duquesne: From Sarah, the organizer of the event: Something brand new for LKS, for the first time ever we had Entertainment. And what a fabulous SHOW!!!! Michael Kent, “Comic, Magician, Smart @$” Came, Saw and Concurred. Damn he’s funny and pretty damn magical too. I kept his identity a secret, at least i tried as long as i could but i let it slip a few times. And from those few that found out early, one look at the internet got people pumped. But the show was so … Read more

St. Baldricks – Shaving Heads for Cancer

I flew into Chicago Thursday night to perform at a St. Baldrick’s event being held by Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Loyola University.  It was a fun (and very bald) crowd.  It was CRAZY windy and VERY cold.  Here’s a video summing up the event! [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4AvdPJpepI] I’ve been doing a few new things in the show and, along with some new music, the show is becoming really exciting to perform.  You’ve gotta see some of this stuff!

Doing Magic at a Martini Bar Tonight to Help a Good Cause

My good friend Jon Petz produces “Miracles and Magic,”  a benefit show every year for “A Kid Again,” which is an organization that helps kids who are fighting illness do fun activities despite all their medical bills and stress. Part of that show is an opening night party at a Martini Bar, happening tonight. The martini bar, Martini Park at Easton, is a SWEET environment for entertainment. Tickets are $100 each and all proceeds go to the charity. I donated my time to the cause, along with a gang of other magicians, local and national. To promote the event, some … Read more

My Top Ten All Time Favorite Magic Tricks and Illusions

While I like to make fun of magic, I really am a lifelong student and fan of the art.  There were MANY tricks/routines/illusions that could have made this list, but here are ten. 10. Zig Zag Lady Illusion This is a classic illusion that many people envision when they think of an illusionist. It’s one of those illusions that, even though it has been exposed many times in print and television, it is still baffling to watch. The basic idea is that a girl enters a box standing up, is cut into three pieces and the middle part of her … Read more

My recent tour in South Korea was an unbelieveable experience. I arrived home one week ago, and I’m JUST NOW getting over the jet lag. The photos were easy to put up, and by now, many of you have seen them. If you havent, they are here. I have some pretty incredible stories that I plan on sharing with you. I hope to create videos to share telling some of the stories like my experience with a Brigadier General’s daughter onstage, being completely immersed in parts of Korea where no one spoke English, hanging out with a bunch of ICW … Read more
